XY system
The PLS Traverse Trolley, together with the rail profi les, is what
makes up our XY system. An XY system off ers maximum fl exibility and
freedom. Furniture changes? No problem. Want to move to any place
within the bounderies of a room? No problem.
How does it work?
An XY system enables a caregiver to lift a patient from anywhere within four
walls.
This is achieved by installing two parallel tracks on each side of the room, either on
the ceiling or on opposite walls. A moving section of track then runs at 90° to the
parallel rails, the Traverse rail. The components that allow the Traverse rail to slide
up and down the parallel tracks, are the Traverse Trolleys. A total of two
Traverse Trolleys are thus required, one on either side of the Traverse rail.
The resulting construction bears some resemblance
to the letter H, therefore it is sometimes being
referred to as an H system.
